Marriage Commissioner & Commissioner for Oaths
Don't marry someone you can live with. Marry someone you cannot live without.
Don't marry someone you can live with. Marry someone you cannot live without.
As a marriage commissioner for the province of Saskatchewan, I am delighted to be able to provide a variety of services for couples wishing to be married.
Whether you’re looking to hold an extravagant ceremony, a backyard reception, or to sign papers before heading to a destination wedding—I would be honoured to help make your wedding wishes come true!
A number of my marriage services are listed below. I also provide several services as a certified Commissioner for Oaths and would be happy to have you contact me to answer any questions you may have.
It's your big day and you should have the wedding you want—from traditional and large scale to modest, themed, or unconventional. Together, we can personalize your ceremony to ensure that your unique needs and wishes are met.
I'm Michael Neuert. You can learn more about me here. My principle role is held in a non-religious capacity to receive and witness the consent of the intended spouses while ensuring the legal formalities, and the validity of the civil union, are observed.
Although the text used for the legal aspects of your formal union are created by the province of Saskatchewan, we can add additional elements and customized vows to your ceremony, or we can leave my services to just the basics.
For example, if you are having a destination wedding and want to complete the legal requirements in Saskatoon beforehand, you can meet with me to work out all of the details.
If you’re getting married in Saskatoon, I can deliver the ceremony as formally or as non-traditionally as you like. We can also work together to have a friend perform your ceremony!
The minimum required is the two of you, a marriage licence, and two witnesses over the age of 18. This is a great option for people looking to have the legal details sorted out in advance of a destination wedding or a ceremony provided by a friend.
This short, legal civil ceremony performed in front of your guests lasts about 10-15 minutes.
A customized civil ceremony that reflects your personality, heritage, values, and more. It could also include an inspirational speech by a significant guest, vows, exchange of rings, or a sand ceremony. In a formal ceremony, I can include the simple ceremony requirements while adding a few additional elements. A few options are listed below. If you would like to add something entirely different and unique, let me know!
Please note that quotes for formal functions may vary depending on how many times you’d like to meet to discuss or rehearse your ceremony.
A sand ceremony is the perfect option for a couple that is looking for a non-denominational unity ceremony.
In a sand ceremony, couples pour two different colours of sand together, symbolizing the blending of two people’s lives. Find some sand and a few vases, write your vows, and you’ll be nearly ready to include a sand ceremony on your special day!
A wine box ceremony is a non-religious wedding ritual in which a bottle of wine is enclosed in a box so that it can be opened by the couple at a later date.
Some couples opt to add an extra layer of meaning by including love letters to each other and sealing them in the box alongside the wine.
It's your special day.
I can work with you to deliver a special moment during your ceremony that you've created just for the occasion.
I would be happy to make my yard available for small gatherings requiring an outdoor wedding space. Please feel free to inquire.
This is your special occasion and I want it to be just that — special.
Let's chat to discuss how I can be of service. I would be happy to prepare a quote for you.
